Role:

We are seeking candidates who being enthusiasm and a hands on approach to helpdesk matters, to help others solve their day to day IT issues.

You will assist other team members with their day to day IT issues, including computer configuration, network access, ordering/arranging repair of monitors, keyboards, track pads, A/V equipment, cable/wireless setups, and keeping racks and equipment rooms tidy.

You will also assist our IT Security team with basic systems administration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Microsoft365 tenancies to support and improve the suite of Microsoft Office products and Power Apps, eg: Automate and Flow.

  • Provide technical leadership to ensure support services are delivered successfully and SLA’s are met.

  • Provide and manage solutions to ensure system/server performance can be proactively monitored and issues addressed before service is degraded.

  • Accountable for the data governance and document storage solution, including supporting policies –DLP, retention, backup, availability, etc.

  • Understanding team workflow processes and analysing opportunities for improvement.

  • Managing the service desk, investigating issues and apply standard maintenance procedures to optimize the performance and stability of production systems.

  • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding activity – new accounts, assisting with first-use access, providing quick introduction to system usability.

  • First line of response, and working closely with DevOps, for operational incidents, including co- ordination and subsequent post-incident clean up and investigation activities.

  • Drive continuous technical/operational process maturity.

  • Authoring of high-quality documentation to support business process, procedures and the internal knowledgebase.

  • Lifecycle asset management for user devices (Apple macOS, Windows and Linux).

  • Assist in the process and completion of audit activity (ISO, PCI, and other possible financial regulatory requirements).

  • Support the Security Team, when requested, to identify and perform risk assessment and remediation activity.

  • Mentor and manage junior resources and educate end-users in more efficient work practices.

Requirements:

  • Formal IT qualifications are desirable but not required. Preferred qualifications are at the VET rather than University level, with a “hands-on” approach.

  • Previous experience in IT helpdesk, or computer / electronic repair, basic system admin will be considered as advantage.

  • Having knowledge of setting up Apple MacOS and Windows machines onto network environments, and demonstrate understanding of key TCP/IP concepts will be considered as advantage.

  • If the successful candidate has an aptitude towards Linux, then in-house training will be provided towards DevSecOps or DevOps roles.
