THE COMPANY
On behalf of our client, a long established and highly reputable Company operating within the financial sector, we seek to recruit an experienced and high calibre professional for the position of Chief Financial Officer, to be based in Nicosia.
THE POSITION
The successful candidate will oversee all financial operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide strategic financial insights to support the Company’s growth and profitability.
More specifically, the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be the following, amongst others:
- Lead the Finance Department and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the Company's business objectives
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans
- Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and/or Board of Directors
- Contribute to the formulation of the Company's Investment Strategy
- Oversee the timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, board presentations and other key financial documentation
- Ensure effective internal controls and financial risk management and take appropriate actions when necessary
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements; liaise with regulatory bodies and auditors
- Leverage technology and analytics to streamline business operations and support strategic decision- making with data insights
- Implement, update and monitor financial procedures and processes to improve accuracy and operational efficiency
- Stay up-to-date on changes in financial and tax regulations and standards, as well as advancements in relevant technology
- Promote collaboration and effective communication within the finance department and across the organisation
- Collaborate with other senior executives to drive the Company's overall strategy
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders and represent the Company in financial discussions and negotiations
- Collaborate with the RMF to identify, assess and mitigate financial risks
- Ensure the sufficiency of capital reserves to meet both regulatory requirements and support business growth
- Ensure optimal liquidity and cashflow management to support the Company's financial operations
- Oversee accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of day-to-day activities
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree, from a reputable university, in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or in a related field
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or in a related field will be considered as an advantage
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA; possession of a CFA certification will be considered as an advantage
- At least ten (10) years of related experience, with at least five (5) years in a senior leadership role within a financial services institution
- Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cyprus tax principles
- Excellent financial planning and reporting skills
- Analytical and critical thinking
- Proven track record of strategic financial planning and management
- Strong business and strategic management acumen
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of integrity and ethical standards
- Effective leadership skills and ability to provide direction
- Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written
- Technologically savvy with advanced digital proficiency (including strong working knowledge of accounting software systems)
