ONE (1) POSITION OF IMPACT REPORTING AND CAPACITY BUILDING OFFICER

The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE) (www.eratosthenes.org.cy) of the Cyprus University of Technology (www.cut.ac.cy) invites applications for one (1) position of Educational Officer at ERATOSTHENES CoE. The position is open on a full-time employment basis.

ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence is an autonomous Centre of Excellence with Cyprus University of Technology as its sole stakeholder, specialising in earth observation, space technology and geospatial analysis. Cyprus University of Technology has experience in earth observations and geospatial analysis since 2007. Through the “EXCELSIOR” H2020 Teaming Project (https://excelsior2020.eu/), ERATOSTHENES CoE aspires to become a Digital Innovation Hub for Earth Observation and Geospatial Information by offering knowledge, responsible research, open innovation and application services capable of sustaining Cyprus’ development. ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence aspires to actively contribute to the European Research Area (ERA) priorities in Atmosphere and Climate, Resilient Societies and Big Earth Data Analytics, as well as to become the reference Earth Observation/Geoinformation Centre for research and innovation in the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa (EMMENA) region. A core activity of ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence is to conduct high caliber, state-of-the-art research, both basic and applied. A central task is to acquire research funding for the Centre, to provide facilities to the researchers, and to support them to acquire funding for their research independently and via international and local collaborations. Collaborations with industrial partners are particularly encouraged and facilitated.

Description of the Position
The successful candidate will be assigned to the Administration workforce of the Centre and will take an active role in the annual and periodic impact assessment of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities for knowledge-transfer, capacity-building and demonstration projects of the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence, performed in the framework of externally funded projects (i.e., Coordination and Support Actions), such as EXCELSIOR (https://excelsior2020.eu/), AI-OBSERVER (https://ai-observer.eu/), ATARI (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101160258) and REVITALISER (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101159951) projects, as well as to the Eratosthenes Technical and Professional Skills Development Program. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be administering, troubleshooting and proactively acting to support ERATOSTHENES CoE employees and external stakeholders participating in these activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:
• Collecting data from the Eratosthenes databases (for activities, research proposals and publications) and producing the periodic impact assessment report of the Eratosthenes.
• Collecting data from the Eratosthenes databases (for activities, research proposals and publications) and producing the Annual Activity Report of the Centre.
• Providing administrative support for the design and implementation of knowledge transfer and capacity building activities undertaken in the framework of Coordination and Support Actions, such as preparation of capacity building activity agenda, distribution, collection and archiving of attendance list, recording, etc.
• Providing administrative support for the design and implementation of demonstration projects undertaken in the framework of Coordination and Support Actions.
• Providing administrative support for the Technical and Professional Skills Development Program, targeting both employees of the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence as well as external stakeholders.
• Collecting and archiving data arising from knowledge transfer and capacity building activities, demonstration projects, and the Technical and Professional Skills Development Program.
• Producing formal reports to demonstrate the performance and impact, as required, of knowledge transfer and capacity building activities, demonstration projects, and the Technical and Professional Skills Development Program.
• Ensure a consistent approach for the delivery of the knowledge-transfer/capacity building activities and demonstration projects, as well as to take quality assurance actions to improve these activities.
• Liaise with the projects’ partners as well as other local and international organisations and networks [such as HRDA (Cyprus Human Resources Development Authority), Cyprus Ministry of Education, Academic Institutions (e.g. Cyprus University of Technology), Copernicus Academy, EUMETSAT, Space Agencies (e.g. ESA, NASA and ISA), ERASMUS+] to support the above activities.
• Any other supporting administrative duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree (BSc) in any subject.
• Postgraduate degree in any subject will be considered as an advantage.
• Previous and relevant professional experience of at least 3 (three years).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including FORMS.
• Certification in IT related competencies will be considered as an advantage.

The appointment will be for a period of one year (12 months) with the prospect of renewal for another year. The monthly gross salary for the (full-time) position will range from €24500 to €37667, depending on qualifications. It is noted that there is a provision for 13th salary which has been proportionally incorporated in the monthly remuneration.
