CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, one of Cyprus’ largest, and most well-established Construction companies, with expertise in both commercial and residential development and restoration projects, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Site Engineer to join their growing team based in Paphos. As a Junior Site Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of on-site construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will need to be educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or another closely related field, with any experience in site engineering considered an advantage, but full training will be provided, and Recent Graduates are therefore encouraged to apply. Knowledge of construction techniques and materials is highly desirable, and fluency in both Greek and English is a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Study and understand project drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with the Site Engineer, Construction Project Manager, Architects and Consultants for the effective supervision development projects.
• Confirm compatibility of site conditions (soil, drainage, slopes and levels, access, environmental sensitivity, other constraints) prior to the commencement of works.
• Ensure adherence to Health & Safety guidelines.
• Assist with the execution of projects according to plans.
• Monitor and report project progress on a regular basis.
• Monitor and support the work of subcontractors with the aim of delivering the highest possible workmanship within the project timeframes.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Department for the correct and timely supply of materials.
• Assess quality of materials and the performance of materials suppliers of the project.
• Ensure regulatory compliance during project execution.
• Ensure that accurate inventory records of materials and equipment are kept.
• Ensure that the works are executed within the agreed budget.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.  
• Some knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
• Experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance with safety regulations will be considered an advantage.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
