POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef Assistant to join our team at our renowned Nikkei restaurant No.1 restaurant in Ayia Napa and Protaras (Tripadvisor). This role involves managing and supervising an assigned section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations, and upholding the restaurant’s high standards of quality, consistency, and hygiene.

The Chef Assistant works closely with the Head Chef, following instructions to maintain the excellence of our dishes while also overseeing and guiding the cooks in their daily activities. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and a deep understanding of kitchen operations to ensure a seamless workflow.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare dishes with precision and efficiency in the designated kitchen section.
  • Supervise cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation, following strict hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor portion sizes and minimize waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of perishable items, keeping refrigerators and freezers in optimal working condition.
  • Strictly comply with food safety standards and ensure that all kitchen equipment is used safely and properly maintained.
  • Assist in menu planning, ingredient preparation, and inventory management when required.
  • Support the Head Chef in implementing new recipes, techniques, and kitchen procedures.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department and/or General Manager.
  • Adhere to the hotel’s Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures and safe working guidelines.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Health Certificates: A valid health certificate is required upon employment.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position within a professional kitchen.
  • Academic Qualifications: Lyceum Certificate or a recognized Hotel & Catering School Certificate.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English or Greek is required.
