The Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus is seeking a competent, experienced School Nurse to join our team.
We are also in the process of building our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site which will include kindergarten, elementary and high school, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school on the cusp of a major turning point.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday/8:30 - 17:00 (flexible time schedule with a break).
Key responsibilities:
- Provide first aid emergency pre-medical care, basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of care.
- Organise and conduct pre-medical examinations of students (including the handling of medical records and laboratory diagnostic tests provided by parents).
- Inform the parents or other legal representatives of the student of the planned volume of medical care, preventive examinations and other medical activities of the students and carry them out once authorised.
- Coordinate the collection and processing of medical records, including (but not limited to) informed consent for medical care (examination and treatment), paediatrician's examination form, etc, keep records updated in the school IT system.
- Organising transport by the ambulance to the nearest hospital in case of need and/or accidents, collecting the documentation package for hospitalisation.
- Organise and conduct anti-epidemic and prophylactic measures to prevent the spread of infectious and parasitic diseases in school, including educational events for students, parents and school staff.
- Maintain required medical documentation and reporting forms in accordance with current regulations.
- Manage inventory of medications and medical equipment in the school, including the First Aid kits located in classrooms and at the school premises.
- Promote and guide students to a healthy lifestyle (i.e informative presentations and activities)
- Record and analyse all cases of injuries according to school injury policy and suggest measures of injury prevention.
- Participate in the development of risk assessments for school trips and events, health and safety plan/civil defense plan
- Coordinate conduction of vision and hearing screenings, volunteering vaccination.
- In cooperation with the receptionists assist families in claiming health insurance benefits in case of accident or injury.
- Provision of consultative, diagnostic and other medical care in accordance with the issued licence for medical activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of health-related policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse license.
- 2+ years of nursing experience.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task.
- Compassionate with good communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- BS or diploma in nursing.
- Fluent Greek & English are must, Russian and any other language desired.
