Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting IT issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure across the organization. This role requires a problem-solver with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second-level IT support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Perform Windows systems troubleshooting and networking troubleshooting to resolve complex IT issues.
  • Manage user accounts, access controls, and security protocols.
  • Assist in IT asset management, including procurement, inventory, and maintenance.
  • Arrange orders and take offers from different suppliers to ensure the best pricing and quality for IT equipment and services.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand their IT needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Ensure data security, backups, and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
  • Document IT processes, issue resolutions, and technical procedures for future reference.
  • Work with help desk tools like Freshdesk to manage and track support requests efficiently.
  • Stay up to date with the latest IT trends and best practices.
  • Test and evaluate company products and services to ensure quality and functionality.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer or in a similar technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with networking protocols, firewalls, and troubleshooting network issues.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Workspace).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist non-technical users and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with help desk tools such as Freshdesk.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: IT Support Specialist (preferred).
  • Maritime background along with experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or e-learning platforms is a plus.
