CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a new multi-asset global trading platform, with expanding operations in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a UI/UX Design Director to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As the UI/UX Design Director, you will primarily be responsible for shaping the design vision and driving the user experience for a multi-asset trading platform. Our client is seeking applicants who possess a deep understanding of the financial industry, coupled with a proven track record of creating exceptional user experiences for sophisticated trading applications. You will provide strategic direction, foster a culture of design excellence, and collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and senior leadership to ensure a cohesive and impactful user experience across all platforms. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Define and articulate a comprehensive UI/UX strategy that aligns with business objectives, user needs, and market trends within the financial sector.
• Develop and maintain a robust design system, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency, scalability, and excellence across the trading platform.
• Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and best practices in financial UI/UX.
• Foster a culture of design innovation and experimentation, encouraging the team to explore new approaches and technologies.
• Provide strategic oversight of the entire design process, from user research and conceptualization to prototyping, visual design, and implementation.
• Champion the creation of intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for complex trading functionalities.
• Ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of a comprehensive design system.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the design team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Ensure design deliverables meet high standards of quality and usability.
• Partner with product management, engineering, and senior leadership to align design strategy with business goals and product roadmaps.
• Clearly articulate design concepts, rationale, and strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
• Establish processes for gathering and incorporating user feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
• Confidently present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
• Leverage deep understanding of trading workflows and financial markets to inform strategic design decisions.
• Translate complex financial data and concepts into clear, intuitive, and actionable visual representations.
• Ensure the platform adheres to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the needs and behaviours of both professional and retail trading users.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Extensive experience in designing and delivering successful trading applications within established financial institutions.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic design thinking, user research expertise, and exceptional visual design skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools, including Figma and other prototyping software.
• Experience conducting A/B testing, usability testing, and user research.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Deep knowledge of financial market data and its effective display.
• Ability to translate complex ideas into simple, intuitive designs.
• Experience leading and mentoring design teams.
