DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Principal Objectives

The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of daily accounting operations. This includes managing invoice processing, payment execution, vendor reconciliations, and VAT reporting/submissions. Additionally, the role requires active collaboration with other departments to support financial accuracy and compliance.

Job duties and responsibilities

In addition to the principal objectives, the Accountant is responsible to:

1. Maintain accurate, up-to-date accounting records and an organized filing system (both digital and physical).

2. Record financial transactions in the accounting software and generate monthly/quarterly reports.

3. Prepare and submit VAT reports, including VIES and Intrastat declarations.

4. Manage the Accounts Payable ledger, including preparing payments for approval.

5. Issue invoices and receipts while monitoring and following up on Accounts Receivable.

6. Facilitate bank transactions, including deposits and withdrawals, as required.

7. Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register with the Trial Balance.

8. Calculate monthly payroll, ensure compliance with regulations, and submit necessary reports to authorities.

9. Oversee and manage petty cash transactions.

10. Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

11. Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation and support.

12. Collaborate with finance and other departments to meet financial deadlines and objectives.

13. Perform additional finance-related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. LCCI Higher in Accounting and/or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance

2. At least 3 years’ experience in an Accounting Department

3. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office

4. Ability to multitask, communicate progress and meet deadlines

5. High degree of numeracy, attention to detail and interpersonal skills

6. Knowledge of English language.
