Role:

We are seeking a Risk Data Analyst to support our team by analyzing transaction data across Cards and SEPA inflows and outflows. This role requires a data-driven approach to identifying trends, monitoring fraud risks, and ensuring compliance with card scheme rules and operational risk thresholds.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to interpret and present key insights through dashboards and reports, supporting executive and board-level decision-making.

Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis & Risk Monitoring

• Analyse and interpret Cards and SEPA transaction data, identifying patterns and potential risks.

• Monitor fraud trends, thresholds set by card schemes, and regulatory risk indicators.

• Use Tableau to create interactive dashboards and visual reports for data-driven decision-making.

• Support the risk team in setting and refining fraud detection thresholds and risk mitigation strategies.

2. Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop risk reports, including Board and Executive Pack papers, summarizing key trends and insights.

• Provide data-backed recommendations on operational and scheme risks across multiple sectors.

• Collaborate with compliance, finance, and technology teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and business requirements.

3. Payments Education & Process Enhancement

• Support the team in understanding and interpreting payment data, linking insights to business impact.

• Assist in refining risk models and enhancing internal risk management frameworks.

• Contribute to training sessions on payments, fraud risks, and scheme rules to improve company-wide knowledge.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Proven experience in a data-driven risk or payments analysis role.

• Strong data manipulation and analysis skills, including experience working with raw transaction data.

• Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and reporting.

• Familiarity with fraud monitoring, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance in payments.

• Strong communication skills to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Desirable:

• Experience in banking, fintech, or financial risk management.

• Understanding of card scheme rules, SEPA regulations, and fraud prevention techniques.

• SQL or Python skills for deeper data analysis (a plus but not mandatory).

• Knowledge of payment flows, Cards, and SEPA transactions.
