On behalf of our client, a very well-known and respected football organisation in Cyprus, we are looking to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to lead their accounting team and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
As an Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their financial statements and supporting the company's financial decision-making process.
Candidate Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role, particularly in IFRS-compliant environments.

Strong knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and financial reporting practices.

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

ACA, ACCA, or similar professional certification will be considered an advantage.

Experience with managing financial audits and working with external auditors in an IFRS environment.

Knowledge of tax regulations and experience in tax compliance.

Experience in implementing IFRS in a multinational or cross-border setting.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of accounting professionals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting operations, including the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with IFRS, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.

Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting under IFRS standards.

Lead, train, and mentor a team of accountants to ensure high levels of productivity, accuracy, and compliance with IFRS.

Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with IFRS, financial regulations, and corporate policies.

Coordinate and prepare financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including management, auditors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to IFRS.

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights to support business decisions.

Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement under IFRS.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparing and filing tax returns, and coordinating audits.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.

Stay updated on changes in IFRS and accounting best practices, ensuring the company’s accounting processes remain compliant and efficient.
