The Position

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing accounting and bookkeeping services to a portfolio of clients from a range of industry sectors and will be a member of a dynamic and diverse cross-border team, consisted mainly of young professionals. More specifically:

Key Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping and recording of all transactions in the accounting software
• Maintain a complete set of books, prepare journals and post entries, keep records of accounts, and verify procedures used for recording financial transactions
• Reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors, prepare working papers, review trial balances and underlying balance sheet accounts as part of the month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare and submit VAT/VIES returns to Cyprus authorities
• Support the audit process, preparing relevant documentation, liaising with external auditors
• Communication with clients in relation to accounting issues and tax obligations

Requirements

• Holder of LCCI Higher diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, Economics, or another related field
• Partly qualified ACA/ACCA will be considered as an advantage
• 3+ years experience as an Accountant
• Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently as well as in a team
• Good knowledge of accounting software (Sofia) will be considered as an advantage
• Computer literate and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
• Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written)
• Good knowledge of preparation and submission of VAT and VIES to be considered an advantage
