Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Accountant & Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all daily accounting operations and will handle tax, VAT, and payroll processes through Cyprus’s official government systems, including Taxisnet, Ergani, GESY, and Social Insurance platforms.

This is a morning-only role, ideal for professionals seeking a stable part-time opportunity with a reputable company, offering a structured work schedule and a friendly work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Financial Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
  • Organize and manage invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable.

Tax & VAT Management

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and tax declarations via Taxisnet.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of all taxes and government contributions.
  • Monitor and apply relevant Cyprus tax regulations and updates.

Payroll & Employee Documentation

  • Calculate and process monthly payroll.
  • Manage employee registrations, terminations, and updates through the Ergani platform.
  • Handle GESY and social insurance contributions, ensuring compliance with Cyprus employment law.
  • Maintain employee leave records and generate relevant reports.

Bank Reconciliations & Financial Reports

  • Reconcile company bank accounts and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare monthly internal financial statements and cash flow reports.
  • Support the annual audit process.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure full compliance with Cyprus accounting and employment laws.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and governmental bodies when required.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an accountant or bookkeeper in Cyprus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cyprus government systems: Taxisnet, Ergani, GESY, and Social Insurance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho Booking, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in Greek and English (both written and verbal).
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; LCCI certification is an advantage.
